The Prince of Wales Will Participate in COP30 Climate Summit in South America

The Prince of Wales is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, according to royal officials.

The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday night at a event preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belem.

Father and son were present at the scientific institution event, marking an unusual joint appearance at a environmental conference preliminary meeting organized in partnership with the British authorities.

Environmental Advocacy Commitment

The King has been a consistent supporter of protecting nature - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio ahead of the climate conference.

Royal sources have characterized Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as assuming an important role in "environmental negotiations".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were greeted participants featuring conservation experts, researchers, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and government officials.

This participation featured addresses together with President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.

The climate conference will align with the William's personal climate innovation prizes, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the eve of he participates in the climate conference on the sixth of November.

Last week the William referred to the Earthshot finalists as "contemporary champions".

Monarch's Environmental Record

The King has been a prominent presence at previous climate summits, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the observation: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".

"For decades I've committed a substantial portion of my life trying to warn of the survival risks challenging our world over global warming, climate change and ecological decline," the King told participants.
