BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Way Too Hard

The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are protesting against several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.

Users have commenced using tailored sessions set up using Battlefield Portal to complete them, emphasizing just how demanding these challenges have become.

Understanding Battlefield 6 Objectives

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. There are four types of assignments, but although many simply offer skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of getting a dozen out of forty-one main guns found within the game.

Some of these locked weapons might eventually make their appearance on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry across Reddit

On Reddit, players are justifiably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most egregious examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at very short distances, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Ridiculously Tough Task

A different forum member brought attention to another ridiculously tough challenge, within the sniper rifle category to unlock the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons

This is difficult enough on its own, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and maybe Operation Firestorm if you're lucky if you want to snipe from a significant distance.

The Workaround

Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can cheese the system… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.

Yet, if completing the missions in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for completing them in a personal session so allies are not impaired?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the locked firearms.

Currently, the community continues to express their views on these demanding battlefield assignments, hoping for a more balanced player experience in future updates.
